Katy Stewart is an analogue collage artist and experimental film maker living and working in the French Alps.
Her work is an enquiry into the complexities of inter- vention / relation between the Human and the Geologic. Viewed through the prisms of materiality, dynamic process and timescale, the intimately personal experience-world of humans is viewed within a vast, unpredictable scape of possibility and uncertainty. A startling, visceral counterpoint between words or images often sparks a beginning, and the work evolves organically to find form in drawing, text, collage, and film.
She regularly exhibits her work in exhibitions in the UK and France, and is published in several journals. She works as an English Literature and Language teacher.
