Macduff Loaf

Macduff Loaf documents the journey of a 25 kilo sack of wheat grain grown in Aberdeenshire at Coldwells Organic Farm, following it through the process of being stoneground using water power at Golspie Mill in Sutherland.

Along the route, five local artisans reflect on their very personal relationships with making bread, in particular with regards to the inauspicious climate in North Scotland.

narrated by BBC’s Alan Didecot

Volcanic energy is routed through underground canals to thaw and transform a financially un-viable landscape of tundra. Both a gentle character parody of the ‘enthusiast’, and a wry questioning of large-scale decision making and environmental ethics.
